A Heartfelt Farewell: College Bids Adieu to Graduating Class

In a poignant and celebratory event, DPGITM bid farewell to its graduating batch of 2024 in a vibrant and emotionally charged farewell party. The occasion, filled with nostalgia and anticipation, brought together students, faculty, and staff to honor the achievements and memories of the departing students.

The evening commenced with a warm welcome of Ms. Lipika Sharma, Vogue Miss India 2024 as a chief guest of the event. The farewell party was not merely a formal affair but a lively celebration of the diverse talents and cultural heritage of the college community. Students showcased their artistic abilities through captivating performances, including music, dance, and poetry. The audience was enthralled by the creativity and passion displayed on stage, applauding enthusiastically for each act.

The farewell party reached its pinnacle of excitement as Mr. Final – Ms. Final & Mr. Eve- Ms. Eve selection was crowned amidst cheers and applause, marking a fitting conclusion to the evening’s festivities. Dr. Priti Gahlot, Managing Director, and The Chief Guest Ms. Lipika Sharma presented the awards to the winning stars. Mr. Sagar& Ms. Sakshi were the Mr. Farewell & Miss Farewell and Mr. Rohit & Ms. Jyoti were the winners of the Mr. Eve & Miss Eve titles. Dr. Preeti Gahlot, Managing Director, DPG Institute of Technology and Management gave her blessings to all the shining stars of the college. 

As the night progressed, there were opportunities to dance on the DJ Beats, DJ Nitish was the Evening star of the party. The farewell party successfully concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof.TR Narula, Registrar who took the medium on behalf of the DPGITM to thank all the organizers, Staff & students.

National Science Day 2024

“Swadeshi technology has proven effective: Jain”

Gurugram. DPGITM, Sector 34, Gurugram, celebrated National Science Day with great enthusiasm on February 28. On this occasion, the college’s General Secretary Mr. Surendra Gehlot Advocate and the college’s Director Prof. RC Kuhad welcomed the Chief Guest Prof. VK Jain (Vice Chancellor of North Hill University Shillong). National Science Day is celebrated in India every year on February 28 in honor of the birthday of the great Indian scientist Sir CV Raman. The discovery of the ‘Raman effect’, popularized by CV Raman, one of the country’s physicists, was confirmed on February 28, 1928. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for this discovery two years later, in 1930. To commemorate this, the Government of India’s Science and Technology Communication Council (NCSTC) recommended celebrating February 28 as National Science Day.

Chief guest Prof. VK Jain said that our country is becoming increasingly capable of fulfilling all its needs using indigenous technology. Director Dr. RC Kuhad clarified in his address that science has been included in India’s culture and civilization since ancient times. Scientists from all over the world continue to benefit from this heritage. General Secretary Surendra Gehlot praised Indian scientists wholeheartedly and said that Indian scientists have earned fame for their outstanding contributions in various fields from time to time.

Professor TR Narula, Registrar, thanked the Chief Guest VK Jain ji and inspired the students to expand science and technology in line with the environment. Computer Science Engineering HOD Dr. Sarita conducted the program smoothly and expressed her gratitude to her team members Akanksha Kulshreshtha, Dr. Simpi Mehta, Smriti Dwivedi, Kanchan Chowdhury and Nisha.

Ek Aas – Donation Drive

Organized by PRAYAAS- Social Welfare Club, DPGITM

and Deptt. of Electronics & Comm. Engg.

Type of event: Donation drive for orphanages, old age home

Date(s): 22nd January – 5th Feb 2024(Collection), 8th Feb 2024 – Donation Drive

Time of drive: 10:00am- 2:30pm

Venue: Deepashram (Orphanage for mentally challenged children), Rajiv Nagar, Old Age Home, Sector 9, Dream Girl Foundation, Sector 9 and Janta rehabilitation center (Orphanage for Blind children).

Organizer: Ms. Akanksha Kulshreshtha (Convener- PRAYAAS), Ms. Vimal, Ms. Devjani, Ms. Neha Mathur, Ms. Gulrukh.

Objectives: PRAYAAS, DPGITM welfare club organized an annual donation drive with

the goal of teaching students the value of generosity and showing them the joy of sharing.

Participants: Students of B.Tech.EE, ECE, AIDS, BCA, DPGITM

Brief Report

Prayaas- Social welfare club of DPGITM, Gurgaon organized “Ek Aas” Donation Drive. This drives aims to help the NGOs and individuals who are performing wonderful work for social welfare. The collection started from 22nd January to 5th February, 2024. The drive has been conducted successfully on 8th February, 2024 under the supervision of Ms. Akanksha Kulshrestha (Convener, Prayaas), Ms. Vimal, Ms. Gulrukh, Ms. Neha Mathur, Ms. Devjani, Mr. K.P.Singh, Mr. Subhash Bhatti, Mr. Shailesh and Mr. Rithik. Students from B.Tech. ECE, EE, AIML/ DS, BCA participated in the drive. The collection of clothes, grocery items, stationary items, toys, blankets, dry and packed food items were segregated and packed for donation. The drive started with a green flag ceremony conducted in the presence of Mr. Surender Gahlot (General Secratary), Dr. Preeti Gahlot ( Managing Director), Dr. R.C. kuhad ( Director), Col.k.s.Thakran ( Administrative officer), Mr.T.R.Narula ( Registrar), Mr. Mukesh yadav ( Dean) and DPGITM family members. Deep ashram, Dream girl foundation, old age home and blind orphanage and slum area were covered for donation. Eight faculty members and eleven students were present during the distribution process of drive. 

Partnership Agreement With Employability.life

Employability.life has signed a strategic agreement with DPG Institute of Technology & Management, GURUGRAM to support its institutional transformation.

As part of the tie-up, Employability.life will conduct a workshop on ‘The Future of Education’ for the senior academic team and management on 23rd November 2023 which will be moderated by global product team of Employability.life & CEO  & Co founder -Mr. Supriyo Chaudhuri to provide experiential projects (XPMCs) aligned to ‘The Future of Work’ to students, and furnish support in connecting with new age employers through an industry-academia special event.

The partnership will eventually engage the management, teachers and students of the Institute as part of a community platform, and will augment professional growth for students and transformation of the institution.

Closely involved in shepherding the partnership discussions to a successful agreement were Dr. Preeti Gahlot, Managing Director of DPGITM and Prof. R.C. Kuhad, Director of DPGITM.  Key personnel on the Employability.life side were Ms. Ruchika Sarna, Director–Academic Partnerships, and her colleague Mr. Shubham Awasthi.

Intellectual Property Right (IPR) Awareness Program (NIPAM)

Under the National Intellectual Property Awareness Program Mission (NIPAM) launched by Office of Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademark (CGPDTM), Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, DPGITM college Gurgaon organized “IPR Awareness Programme” on 14th September 2023. The seminar was delivered by Mrs. Pooja kumar, NIPAM-IP professional, Entrepreneur and startup facilitator.

Objective:

The objective of the seminar was to build IPR culture. The silent objective was to introduce the method of protecting the idea, design or product of innovator. The objective was also to educate the participants about the various types of patent and the procedure to file the patent.

Session Details:

The program commenced at 10:00 am in the Seminar Hall (A001). The entire session was organized under the guidance of Dean academics Dr. Mukesh Yadav, with assistance of Coordinator Mr. Abhi Bansal and Co-Coordinator Dr. Vidhika Tiwari. Many faculties and students took part in workshop. The resource person has elaborately outlined the importance of IPR in today’s dynamic environment. She emphasised on the essential requirement to know about the IPR as the definition of assets has grown from material to non-material. In general, Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) is concerned with the protection of tangible and intangible property. IPR provides material awards and recognition to the inventors and contributors for their investment. Hence, it enhances motivation to disseminate scientific and technological information which in turn stimulates research and development for improvement of the quality of life. During this session the following points were discussed:

1. Introduction of Intellectual Property Rights.

2. Law governing Intellectual Property Meaning

3. Types of Intellectual Property a. Patent b. Trademark c. Copyright

4. Geographical indication and Semiconductor Integrated Circuits Layout.

Outcomes of Program:

 It was a very fruitful Awareness Programme. Students and Faculty members had a great learning experience about the importance of IPR in present scenario and has also been made aware about the procedure of filling the patents. The lecture concluded with an interactive question answer session. The event was a grand success under the enlightenment of Dr R.C. Kuhad, Director of the institute and the participants.
