VORTEX – LAN-Based Gaming Event

On September 29, 2023, DPG Institute of Technology and Management hosted an exhilarating LAN-based gaming event known as “Vortex.” The spotlight of the event was on the immensely popular and competitive mobile game, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI). This thrilling tournament attracted gaming enthusiasts and competitors from all around the institute.

Vortex served as a testament to the growing significance of mobile gaming in the world of esports. The event featured a dedicated gaming arena with an array of top-of-the-line smartphones, creating an environment where participants could showcase their skills in BGMI. The setting was nothing short of mesmerizing, with rows of competitors immersed in intense battles.

Contestants at Vortex demonstrated not only their individual gaming prowess but also their teamwork and strategic abilities. BGMI’s battle royale format demands both quick reflexes and smart decision-making, making for intense and action-packed matches. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as players fought their way to victory in a bid to claim the title of BGMI champion.

The LAN-based setup allowed gamers to compete against each other in real-time, fostering a sense of camaraderie and healthy competition. The gaming arena buzzed with excitement and anticipation as players engaged in intense battles, displaying their strategic prowess and quick reflexes.

In addition to the competitive aspect, Vortex also offered participants and spectators a chance to appreciate the broader gaming culture. There were gaming merchandise stalls, cosplaying competitions, and interactive activities, making it a well-rounded event for all gaming enthusiasts.

Among the participating teams, “Inflame Esports” emerged as the undisputed champions of Vortex, securing the coveted 1st position.

“Hacker,” another formidable team, showcased their exceptional skills and resilience throughout the tournament, ultimately securing the 2nd position.

Team “Noob” may have had a playful name, but they proved their mettle by securing the 3rd position.

This event was blessed with the presence of Director sir Prof. RC Kuhad, Registrar sir T.R Narula and Administrative Officer Col. K.S Thakran sir.

Students were also accompanied by our supporting faculty members such as Dr. Rashmi verma (HOD) Ma’am, Ms. monika Thakran ma’am , Mr. Yash Dhankhar Sir, Dr. Bhawna Kaliraman Ma’am, Ms. Harshita Sharma Ma’am, Mr Nishu Yadav Sir, Mr Ashish Dhillon Sir, Ms. Rimmy Ma’am, Ms. Vandana Verma Ma’am and Dr. Payal Jindal Ma’am.

Vortex was a remarkable event, bringing together the gaming community at DPG Institute of Technology and Management and offering a glimpse into the future of competitive mobile gaming. As BGMI and mobile gaming continue to gain popularity, events like Vortex play a pivotal role in promoting this dynamic and evolving sector of the gaming industry, fostering camaraderie and showcasing the incredible talent of mobile gamers.

In the end, a significant event took place in the form of a badge ceremony, where Kunal Ahlawat and Imbesat were honored with the prestigious titles of Head Boy and Head Girl of the college. The ceremony, held with great pomp and grandeur, was a momentous occasion that symbolized the recognition of leadership, responsibility, and academic excellence.

World Ozone Day – 2023

The World Ozone Day was celebrated by the Youth and Biosphere Club of DPGITM, Gurugram. On this occasion Poster making and Debate Competitions were organized. The purpose of the event was to make people aware of environmental problems and Ozone Layer depletion . The theme of the event was “Fixing Ozone layer and reducing climate change”. Approximately 40 students participated in the poster making and debate. The Director Prof. RC Kuhad motivated students to conserve and preserve the environment which is degrading at a very fast pace. They also asked students to plant more and more trees in their vicinity.

Intellectual Property Right (IPR) Awareness Program (NIPAM)

Under the National Intellectual Property Awareness Program Mission (NIPAM) launched by Office of Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademark (CGPDTM), Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, DPGITM college Gurgaon organized “IPR Awareness Programme” on 14th September 2023. The seminar was delivered by Mrs. Pooja kumar, NIPAM-IP professional, Entrepreneur and startup facilitator.

Objective:

The objective of the seminar was to build IPR culture. The silent objective was to introduce the method of protecting the idea, design or product of innovator. The objective was also to educate the participants about the various types of patent and the procedure to file the patent.

Session Details:

The program commenced at 10:00 am in the Seminar Hall (A001). The entire session was organized under the guidance of Dean academics Dr. Mukesh Yadav, with assistance of Coordinator Mr. Abhi Bansal and Co-Coordinator Dr. Vidhika Tiwari. Many faculties and students took part in workshop. The resource person has elaborately outlined the importance of IPR in today’s dynamic environment. She emphasised on the essential requirement to know about the IPR as the definition of assets has grown from material to non-material. In general, Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) is concerned with the protection of tangible and intangible property. IPR provides material awards and recognition to the inventors and contributors for their investment. Hence, it enhances motivation to disseminate scientific and technological information which in turn stimulates research and development for improvement of the quality of life. During this session the following points were discussed:

1. Introduction of Intellectual Property Rights.

2. Law governing Intellectual Property Meaning

3. Types of Intellectual Property a. Patent b. Trademark c. Copyright

4. Geographical indication and Semiconductor Integrated Circuits Layout.

Outcomes of Program:

 It was a very fruitful Awareness Programme. Students and Faculty members had a great learning experience about the importance of IPR in present scenario and has also been made aware about the procedure of filling the patents. The lecture concluded with an interactive question answer session. The event was a grand success under the enlightenment of Dr R.C. Kuhad, Director of the institute and the participants.
