DPG Institute of Technology & Management, Gurgaon had celebrated National Science Day on the theme of “Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat” on 28th February, 2024. Innovative Idea competition was organized on the sub themes like Recent technological advancements in INDIA, Environmental Degradation and Sustainable development. The students from B.Tech., BBA and BCA had participated and presented their innovative ideas.

The event was inaugurated in the presence of H’ble Chief guest, Dr. Preeti Gahlot (Managing Director), Mr. Surender Gahlot (General Secretary), Prof. R.C. Kuhad (Director), Prof. T.R. Narula (Registrar), Col. K.S. Thakran (Administrative Officer), Dr. Mukesh Yadav (Dean), Organisers, faculty members and students. Prof. R.C. Kuhad emphasizes on importance of innovation and research in interdisciplinary streams. He motivated students by sharing his experience in microbiology and science. Prof. V. K. Jain shared his perspective on innovation and need of innovation to achieve excellence in any field. The collaboration of different disciplines always gives a wide scope of research.
Around 20 teams had participated and presented brilliant ideas on indigenous technology and sustainability. The actual problems like stubble burning, scope of zero investment natural farming, challenges in ocean cleaning, hazards from glass garbage, improvement scope of improvement in conventional helmet etc. has been addressed by students. Very useful and economic solutions were proposed and presented with relevant statistical data.

Roadmap The Code X Challenge Bootcamp, held on 13th November 2024, was a highly engaging and competitive event that attracted the active participation of students from all years. The event consisted of three rounds, each designed to test different aspects of coding proficiency:
Memory Round: This round tested participants’ ability to retain and interpret complex data patterns quickly, requiring them to demonstrate sharp memory and analytical skills.
Code Golf: In this round, participants had to write the shortest and most efficient code to solve a given problem. This round encouraged creativity and precision, pushing students to optimize their coding solutions.
DSA Round: Focused on evaluating students’ mastery of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA). It required participants to apply their knowledge of various data structures and algorithms to solve complex problems efficiently. Each round posed unique challenges, encouraging participants to think strategically, work efficiently, and showcase their coding talents.

DPGITM signed a MOU with vanillakart on 3rd september ,2024 .
The MOU was signed in the presence of Ms Farheen Director Vanillakart, MD DPGITM Ms. Sonal Gahlot, Dr. Poonam Sharma Associate professor CSE department, Ms. Arpita Assistant professor CSE department and registrar DPGITM Mr. T.R. Narula.
Vanillakart run an exceptional project based online learning program with atal incubation center NITTE, Net zero foundation government of India. They will be providing eight different certification programs to students of B.Tech and BCA which will enable them to learn new skills and advance their carrier in the area of web designing, AI, entrepreneurship , PR and communications. The different area include:

Entrepreneurship and startup launch pad
PR and media handling.

They have specialized mentors in these fields who will be mentoring and teaching the students thrice in week in online mode and making them design good projects. They will also be providing small stipend to the students in case they design some good projects. VIP mentors from harward, IITs, NFT labs are also part of the programs to mentor students as well as faculty members.
Firstly Ms. Farheen introduce the certification programs to our B.Tech and BCA students in two different batches and later on MOU was signed.

Introduction On November 5, 2024, the final-year students from the CSE, AIML, and DS departments of DPG Institute of Technology and Management had the opportunity to participate in an educational visit to CanWinn Hospital, Gurugram. This visit aimed to expose students to real-world applications of technology in the healthcare sector, emphasizing the alignment with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
The CanWinn Hospital, established in January 2023, has already made a significant impact in the community by offering affordable healthcare services and supporting social initiatives such as CanWinn Rozgaar. The visit provided an in-depth understanding of CanWinn’s commitment to leveraging technology for social good, a perfect blend of professional exposure and social responsibility.

2. Meeting with the IT Team The main focus of the visit was an insightful interaction with CanWinn’s IT department. Our students had the chance to discuss the technology systems that support the hospital’s operations, including patient management, data security, and system integration. This interaction provided a valuable learning experience, shedding light on the technical challenges faced by healthcare IT teams and the critical role of technology in improving service delivery and patient care.
3. Exploring Technology Challenges and Solutions The IT team at CanWinn highlighted several technology challenges they encounter, such as handling large volumes of patient data, ensuring data privacy, and improving system efficiency. Students were able to engage in discussions on potential solutions, gaining insights into how various emerging technologies, including AI and data analytics, could help address these challenges. The hospital’s technical team has offered select students the opportunity to intern with them, where they will work on solving data warehousing challenges, address various technology issues the hospital is currently facing, and develop a speech emotion recognition application for patient support. The students were highly engaged during the discussions and expressed enthusiastic interest in participating in this internship.
4. Visit to the Rozgaar Team Following the IT department visit, students met with the CanWinn Rozgaar team. This session provided an overview of how CanWinn is addressing unemployment through skill-building initiatives. The team shared the impact of their efforts on local communities, aligning with the SDG goals of promoting sustainable job creation and inclusive economic growth.
