CSE Industrial Visit to DUCAT

  • ALL CLUBS IN CSE COLLECTIVELY organised industrial visit in DUCAT.
  •  All students attended a session on machine learning and data science tools used in today,s real world industries.
  • it was an eye-opening experience for our students.
  • The faculty at DUCAT was able to break down complex concepts into easy-to-understand terms, making it accessible to everyone in the audience.
  • The examples and case studies presented were relevant and thought-provoking, providing valuable insights into how data science and machine learning can be applied to solve real-world problems.
  •  The faculty’s passion and enthusiasm for the subject were infectious, and it was clear that they were highly   knowledgeable and experienced in the field.
  •  Overall, it was engaging, informative, and highly relevant to anyone interested in staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the world of data science and machine learning.

Industrial visit to 220 KV GIS Substation

Objectives of the visit

  1. To gain Practical knowledge of Electrical power distribution and transmission and power line carrier communication.
  2. To get familiarized with different electrical equipments and working of a substation.
  3. To study various parts of the substation and how they are operated.
  4. To get clear idea to read the single line diagram of power substation using different symbols used in diagrams.

Outcomes of the visit

  1. Learn and able to visualize practically different parts of the transformer in detail.
  2. Actually understand onsite how actually transformer steps down the voltage from 220KV/66 KV which in turn is further stepped down to 33KV and 11KV at different substations and distributed to household and industries through various feeders.
  3. Able to actually differentiate AIS (air insulated substation)with GIS (Gas insulated substation) and study advantages of the later.
  4. Understand the reason behind using stones/gravel in the substation to reduce the step potential and touch potential when operators work on switch yard and eliminate the growth of small weeds and plants inside the switch yard.
  5. Study various protective measures to protect the substations from various faults and its smooth function.
  6. Students could in detail learn about how the complete controlling of the substation is carried out remotely through SCADA programming.
  7. Encourages students from within regarding the branch chosen and gives wide exposure of employment in the related fields.

Benefits of the visit

  1. Involve JE/SDO from the same or allied organizations for expert lectures in future for Electrical Engg. students.
  2. Facilitate internship for students to such organizations with permission to give better industry exposure and make students industry ready.
